All appointments are virtual and held via video (telemedicine). There is a one-time nonrefundable Intake fee of $175. Each visit is a multiple of 25 minutes (25, 50, 75 minutes, etc.). Each 25 minute session is $175.
For example, a NEW patient scheduling a 50 minute session would pay $525 (Intake fee + 50 minute charge). A RETURN patient scheduling a 50 minute session would pay $350.
Scheduling is done on the hour and half hour, but is continuous when more than one 25 minute session is scheduled. Example: a 50 minute session scheduled for 10:00 AM would start at 10:00 AM and end at 10:50 AM.
General communication and sharing of documents is done via Secure Messaging using the Client Portal to SimplePractice, accessed on myMDadvocate’s Home page. If complex records review is requested by the client, a charge of $175 will be made for 25 minutes of time spent.
Allowances will be made for simple or brief document review separate from time spent in a visit. Allowances will also be made for simple or brief phone conversations or secure messaging, and also if Dr. Baumgaertel choses to extend your visit beyond the scheduled appointment time under mutually agreed upon circumstances.
For no-show/no-call visits, patients are charged a $350 fee. Handling of “late-cancels” (less than 24 hours prior to scheduled appointment) will be determined on an individual basis.
All visit charges for a day are billed after midnight the same day: credit card will be automatically charged via Stripe at that time and payment collected at that time.
Invoices (marked as paid) are sent automatically via email the day after each appointment.
Insurance will not be billed and myMDadvocate is not considered in-network by any insurance plans. Clients are responsible for full payment of all fees as above.
Under certain circumstances, itemized billing receipts – also known as Superbills – will be generated upon individual request if requested at or before the time of the visit. Clients may try submitting a Superbill to their insurance carrier to see if their plan covers part of the visit. myMDadvocate is not responsible for obtaining “prior authorization” from any insurance plan.
It is important to know that Superbills can NOT be generated for any Medicare, Medicaid, Medicare Advantage or Medicare + Supplement plans due to Medicare CMS regulations. For all other insurance plans there is no guarantee that they will pay any portion of the Superbill, and also no guarantee any payments will “count” towards annual plan or out-of-network deductibles.
Superbills may or may not qualify for submission to individual Health Savings Accounts, but the same restrictions apply as stated above re: Medicare and Medicaid.
