Instructions for RETURN patients already established with myMDadvocate.
New patients please start with my New Patients page.
- Always access the Client Portal for SimplePractice via the myMDadvocate website. This is so you will be able to read any new announcements regarding change in services, vacation/unavailable dates, and important general news and updates. Unfortunately, SimplePractice is not set up for “group messaging” so that’s why it is important to always use the myMDadvocate website for portal access.
- You can still just click on email or calendar links (to start your video visit, for example), but be sure to check back on the myMDadvocate website to be certain you don’t miss any group announcements.
- To download the free mobile app select “Telehealth by SimplePractice” in the app store (iOS and Android). The mobile app is used for Telehealth sessions when using your tablet or mobile phone but is not needed when using a laptop or desktop computer.
- When scheduling your appointment please be sure you will be physically located in WA state at the date/time of your future appointment—this is required to be in compliance with state and federal Telehealth regulations.
- You can request appointments directly on myMDadvocate’s SimplePractice calendar after logging in via the Client Portal. If you need an appointment before 24 hours, you’ll need to contact Dr. Baumgaertel via Secure Messaging which is accessed via the Client Portal under the Communication tab. You will receive a courtesy reminder email 48 hours prior to regularly scheduled appointments.
- Once logged into the Client Portal please use Secure Messaging for all messages and written communication. This is important due to federal regulations concerning Protected Health Information (PHI).
- When needed, you can share documents by uploading files under the Documents tab. File types accepted are PDF, JPG, PNG, MP3, M4A, DOC, DOCX and CSV, with a maximum file size of 10MB. This is particularly helpful to send ahead of your appointment if you desire specific input (such as test results, letters, pictures, etc.).
- If you need to cancel your appointment please do so via Secure Messaging and give notice at least 24 hours prior. If you cancel less than 24 hours before, you may incur a cancellation charge—this will be determined on an individual basis, depending on the circumstances. If you miss your scheduled appointment entirely without notifying myMDadvocate you will be billed as a no-show.
- For credit card changes or renewals, please update your payment information promptly to avoid billing errors. Likewise, if you change your email, phone number or address please update your demographic information. myMDadvocate does not have a receptionist so your attention to these details is very much appreciated. Many thanks!
